PRESS RELEASE: Technicis Group, the professional translation specialist, pursues its external growth strategy by simultaneously acquiring Telelingua and HL Trad.
Boulogne-Billancourt, 20 July 2018 – Our parent company, the Technicis Group is pleased to announce two new acquisitions. These acquisitions reinforce the Group’s expertise in law and finance via HL Trad, and in life sciences via Telelingua. These areas constitute two new major building blocks for Technicis, after the digital block it recently added through the acquisition of TextMaster. These three new acquisitions in 2018 reflect the pursuit of Technicis’ 2012 development strategy to become one of the top five translation agencies in the world by 2020.
Two sector heavyweights to strengthen the Group’s business lines
HL Trad and Telelingua are both European companies with exceptional growth. Specialising exclusively in legal and financial translation, HL Trad was founded in Paris in 2006 and acquired CPW and Sémantis in 2017.
Originally located in Brussels, Telelingua has over thirty years of international experience in the field and has a broader range of expertise. The life sciences branch of Telelingua is particularly well-respected by its clients in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors in Europe and the US.
In addition to their areas of expertise, HL Trad and Telelingua stand out by offering an around-the-clock service 24/7, which B2B clients particularly appreciate.
A word from Technicis Group CEO Benjamin du Fraysseix “Pleasing our clients is above all about understanding their expectations”, he emphasised. “We will have created five key business lines that will enable us to provide clients with unprecedented service quality: Digital & Luxury, Finance & Legal, Industry & Energy, Pharma & Medical, and Services. Following our acquisition of TextMaster in March, the integration of HL Trad and Telelingua is a turning point for the Group, making it a solid global player with abundant local offices and wide-scale positioning to meet the needs of all of our international clients.”
Technicis Group makes three acquisitions in 2018 as part of its strategy for international expansion
HL Trad and Telelingua are Technicis’ sixth and seventh acquisitions since 2012, the year the Group launched its strategy for external growth. V.O. Paris joined the Group first, followed by Cogen (2015), Translation Probst (2016), Arancho Doc which also includes Soget (2017) and, more recently, TextMaster, which specialises in professional cloud-based translation (2018).
Technicis Group currently has over 700 employees all over the world as well as a solid international presence, with offices throughout Europe (Belgium, Czech Republic, England, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland), North America (Canada and the United States) and Asia (China).
The Group has a 2018 turnover target of €100 million and has established itself amongst the leading international agencies in the professional translation industry.
